How to get to the IDEA Conference 2002
Before you get directions, please note that the conference begins at 6:00 pm on Friday, September 27th. Since we are anticipating several hundred participants, we recommend that you arrive between 5:00 and 5:30 pm to ensure enough time to pick up your registration materials before the conference officially begins. ![]() Traveling South From the Golden Gate Bridge/North Bay After crossing the Golden Gate Bridge, stay in the right lane and take the 19th Avenue exit. Turn right on Cabrillo Street and then left onto 14th Avenue. Proceed to Fulton Street and make a left. At the top of the hill, turn left on Parker Avenue and then right on Golden Gate Avenue. Proceed to the visitor's entrance on Golden Gate between Kittredge Terrace and Roselyn Terrace. Traveling West From the Bay Bridge/East Bay After crossing the Bay Bridge, follow the signs for the Fell Street/Mission Street exit. Take the Fell Street exit. Stay on Fell Street for approximately two miles. Make a right on Shrader Street and a right on Golden Gate Avenue. Proceed to the visitor's entrance on Golden Gate between Kittredge Terrace and Roselyn Terrace. Traveling North from the Peninsula Take Highway 280 Northbound. Take the 19th Avenue exit. Stay on 19th Avenue for approximately three miles. Make a right on Fulton Street. At the top of the hill, turn left on Parker Avenue and then right on Golden Gate Avenue. Proceed to the visitor's entrance on Golden Gate between Kittredge Terrace and Roselyn Terrace. Traveling North From San Jose/South Bay Take Highway 101 Northbound. Once in San Francisco, follow the signs for the Golden Gate Bridge. Take the Fell Street exit. Stay on Fell Street for approximately two miles. Make a right on Shrader Street, which will turn into Parker Ave once you cross Fulton. Proceed on Parker, then turn right on Golden Gate Avenue. Proceed to the visitor's entrance on Golden Gate between Kittredge Terrace and Roselyn Terrace. Public Transportation to USF: Public transportation within San Francisco requires taking the #5 Fulton bus (SF Muni bus route: http://www.transitinfo.org/cgi-bin/muni/timetable?C=MU&R=5&M=M). After you arrive at USF: The main conference sessions are being held in the McLaren Center (MC), pictured in the map below (modified from the USF Campus Map Page). Concurrent sessions will be held in McLaren, and also in nearby Harney Science Center (HR). Campus maps will also be provided at the conference. ![]()
