Jonathan WellsPh.D. Molecular and Cell Biology, UC Berkeley; Ph.D. Religious Studies, Yale University.  Jonathan Wells has a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology from UC Berkeley and a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Jonathan Wells has a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology from UC Berkeley and a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Yale University. He has done postdoctoral research at the UC Berkeley, and has taught biology at California State University in Hayward. Dr. Wells has published articles in both scientific and religious journals including Development, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences USA, BioSystems, American Presbyterians, and Patristic and Byzantine Review. He is also author of the books "Charles Hodge's Critique of Darwinism" (Edwin Mellen Press, 1988) and "Icons of Evolution" (Regnery, 2000). He is a Senior Fellow at Discovery Institute's Center for Science and Culture. Dr. Wells's work in developmental biology poses a serious challenge to the neo-Darwinian idea that random mutations can create new body plans and organisms. Jonathan Wells has been a strong supporter of IDEA by providing us with various resource materials. His book "Icons of Evolution" has sold thousands of copies and sparked controversy by bringing challenges to Darwinian theory into the classroom throughout the nation. IDEA has used his "Ten questions to ask your biology teacher about evolution" bookmarks and An Evaluation of Ten Recent Biology Textbooks as outreach tools to other students. Dr. Wells is a fine scholar and a credible member of our Advisory Board. We are gracious that he has allowed us to include him as a supporter of our group.
