An excellent new website, Organizacion Internacional para el Avance Cientifico del Diseno Inteligente (OIACDI) (formerly Ciencia Alternativa), is providing resources to the world on intelligent design in Spanish. Headed by Mr. Mario Lopez, with collaborating scientists from around the world, the site boasts many ID-resources in Spanish. While some aspects of the site are still being developed, they already have extensive resources, including:

Here's a blurb about the site: Esta organización nació gracias a los esfuerzos de un grupo de especialistas, doctores y profesores de diferentes partes del mundo del habla hispana, principalmente de México, España y Colombia. Iniciado por Mario A. López (de EE.UU.) en el mes de enero del año 2006 bajo el nombre Ciencia Alternativa, el grupo decidió colaborar para introducir la teoría de diseño inteligente (DI) en la comunidad hispana de naciones.

Los colaboradores provienen de diferentes niveles de educación y disciplinas académicas, pero todos tienen experiencia en el campo de las ciencias naturales, las matemáticas (teoría de la probabilidad) y la filosofía. Pero independientemente de su formación profesional, todos ellos creen que es importante formular las propuestas de esta teoría al margen de implicaciones religiosas o teológicas.

Este interés en la ciencia del DI refleja la creciente controversia que rodea a varias de las propuestas actuales sobre el origen del universo y de los seres vivos. La teoría del diseño inteligente sostiene que hay ciertas características en la naturaleza que son mejor explicadas como el resultado de una causa inteligente que por un proceso aleatorio o leyes naturales. En este sitio web se exponen algunos ejemplos de los que trata la ciencia del DI, como son los de la complejidad del flagelo bacteriano o el origen de la información en el ADN. No hay científico que no admita reconocer el obvio diseño [y complejidad] en la naturaleza. La cuestión que se dirime es cómo o de dónde han derivado ese diseño y esa complejidad.

Estas y otras preguntas pertinentes al tema del origen del universo y de la vida serán discutidas en este sitio web. En un primer momento, y sin menoscabo de futuras aportaciones originales, los miembros del grupo se han ocupado de la traducción de material escrito por los promotores de la teoría de diseño inteligente en sitios web de habla inglesa.

La ciencia del DI, como todas las ciencias que abarcan a la cuestión de origen del mundo, resulta controvertida. Esperamos que este medio ayude a entender esta fascinante teoría.

And here's the translation for non-Spanish-readers: This organization was created through the efforts of a group of specialists, doctors and professors from around the Spanish-speaking world, mainly from Mexico, Spain and Colombia. Started by Mario A. Lopez (U.S.) in January 2006 under the name Alternative Science, the group decided to work together to introduce the theory of intelligent design (ID) in the Hispanic community of nations.

The contributors come from different levels of education and academic disciplines, but all have experience in the field of natural sciences, mathematics (probability theory) and philosophy. But regardless of their training, they all believe that it is important to formulate the proposals of this theory outside of religious or theological implications.

This interest in the science of DI reflects the growing controversy surrounding many of the current proposals on the origin of the universe and of living things. The theory of intelligent design holds that there are certain features in nature that are best explained as the result of an intelligent cause than by a random process or natural laws. In this website some examples of science that deals DI are exposed, such as the complexity of the bacterial flagellum or the source of information in DNA. No scientist who does not acknowledge the obvious design supports [and complexity] in nature. The question is at issue is how or where they have derived this design and that complexity.

These and other questions relevant to the subject of the origin of the universe and life are discussed on this website. At first, without prejudice to future original contributions, group members have dealt with the translation of material written by the developers of the theory of intelligent design in the English-speaking websites.

DI science, like all sciences covering the question of origin of the world, is controversial. Hope this helps you understand half this fascinating theory.
