Few have time to sift through the minions of creation - evolution websites, so we hope to save you surf-time by rating links according to the amount of easy-to-access "useful" material on a site. These ratings are NOT our opinion of the validity of the arguments, focus, or conclusions found at a site, but simply our opinion of a site's usefuleness. The site contains a gaggle of intelligent design resources including info from well known authors, the Origins and Design Journal, and one of the largest intelligent design internet discussion boards.

This site houses a very large number of archived articles and other works by William Dembski. The site has numerous articles related to the detection of design and answering objection to intelligent design theory, making it a good place to start if you want to learn about the theory of intelligent design.

IDURC.orgThis website has been "designed as a community for undergraduate and high school students interested in Intelligent Design Theory". Its website has pages devoted to scholarly papers written by students, a discussion forum and an archive of interviews with ID proponents.

Dr. Behe is a professor of biochemistry at Lehigh University and is known for his book, Darwin's Black Box. This site contains online articles by Behe such as "response to critics on irreducible complexity," as well as a great page on molecular machines and irreducible complexity.

Johnson is a law professor at UC Berkeley and is considered by many to be the leader of the "Intelligent Design Movement." The site contains online articles and personal information.

William Dembski holds a PhD in Math and Philosophy as well as a having a Masters in Divinity and is the author of The Design Inference which Behe says, "constructs the formal logical arguments necessary for rigorous evaluation of design hypotheses." The site has info about his other books and links to many online articles.

This site contains an online book, the Eye Design Book Dr. Curt Deckert. The broad and thorough book contains details on the intelligent design of various eyes including a description of how sight works, a discussion of various eye designs in nature, a discussion of the designer, and an extensive links page. The book has many figures aiding in the explanation of the text.

IDtheFuture.com is the home of the Discovery Institute's "ID the Future" podcast. As the premier intelligent design podcast out there, it features regular interviews with leading ID proponents as well as information and updates from science, education, and other dimensions of the ID debate.

This site is a critique of the work of William Dembski, author of The Design Inference and Intelligent Design. Wesley Elsberry, a graduate student at Texas A&M Unviersity, created the site aiming it to be "a scholarly resource where the interested researcher can learn about not only William Dembski's ideas, but also about the significant criticisms which have been made concerning those ideas."

Talk.Origins is a site promoting naturalism and arguing against Young Earth Creationism and Intelligent Design. This FAQ contains a critique of Intelligent Design theory and links to other anti-Intelligent Design sites.

TalkDesign is "a sub-site of TalkOrigins.org " and is "dedicated to: Assessing the claims of the Intelligent Design movement from the perspective of mainstream science; Addressing the wider political, cultural, philosophical, moral, religious, and educational issues that have inspired the ID movement; [and] Providing an archive of materials that critically examine the scientific claims of the ID movement" .

Creation / Evolution Stance: Naturalism. The Panda's Thumb is a blog which describes itself as a place "where patrons gather to discuss evolutionary theory, critique the claims of the antievolution movement, defend the integrity of science and science education in America and around the world, and share good conversation." It is closely linked to the other anti-ID sites such as Talk Origins, the NCSE, and Talk Design, where its contributors regularly post. Various articles are posted which critique intelligent design theory and various creationist ideas.

This website aims to be an "unbiased archive where Youth from all perspectives can "come and present their thoughts regarding the origins and evolutionary development by uniformitarian [mainstream] and/or catastrophic means."

This essay by evolutionary biologist Massimo Pigliucci critiques some of the fundamental concepts behidn intelligent design theory, such as Behe's idea of "irreducible complexity," (IC) and Dembski's "specified complexity" (SC). The essay gives alternative explanations for the origin of IC and SC, from a non-intelligent design perspective.

Part of the ActionBioscience, a "non-commercial, educational web site created and managed by BioScience Productions, Inc. to promote bioscience literacy by examining issues that will ... engage the public to reflect on the relationship between human activity and the natural course of evolution", this page hosts a number of articles from well known evolutionists including Donald Johanson, Tim Berra, and Niles Eldredge. It also has articles both for and against Intelligent Design from Natural History Magazine (April, 2002).

Creation-Evolution Stance: not creationism. Created by Wesley Elsberry, this pro-evolution site aims to be, "for the critical examination of the antievolution movement. Unlike antievolution advocacy web sites, this site aims to provide links to both the antievolutionists making their own arguments and also to the critics who provide mainstream science answers to those arguments." It has lists of people, links, graphics and documents, and an excellent diagramatic description of the various viewpoints of the creation-evolution issue.

The "BECSE" is a community group formed to stop the teaching of Design Theory at their local high school. The site details the group's work with the ACLU from 1998-2001, and their successful silencing of local biology teacher Roger DeHart. Contains a useful links page.

A part of the "Answers in Action website", this is a dialogue between 2 people (both pro and con) over Behe's mousetrap analogy and intelligent design.

Part of the junk science website, this page sees Intelligent Design as a "threat to science education" and urges the reader to "take this threat seriously and meet it head on".

This site tends to focus on astronomical arguments for God and Christianity.

If you want to get the most up-to-date and well referenced briefs on current articles related to creation and evolution, this particular page is it. It is written for a popular audience with summaries of recent articles followed by entertaining commentary. It is typically written from the young Earth perspective, and their references to past articles is fantastic, allowing one to do as much more research as they choose on a given topic.

The Earth History Research Center is a "non-profit, non-sectarian organization of scientists established in 1996 by Drs. Lee Spencer and Art Chadwick" and has various scientific staff who have contributed scientific papers, including sections on evolution and speciation, human origins, the fossil record, and the origin of life.

Creation Ministries International is a large young earth creationist organization that publishes articles, Creation Magazine, the Journal of Creation, as well as many FAQs.

Does God Exist is a bi-monthly journal which tends to have lots of articles related to Intelligent Design (from a pro-Intelligent Design perspective). The journal also deals with many other subjects such as The problem of human suffering and other philosophical and moral issues.

Resources include "Monkey-Man Hypothesis Thwarted by Mutation Rates," debates, critique of fossil evidence for evolution, evidence for the validity of the Bible, and a discussion of Haldane's dilemma.

Creation-Evolution Stance: Naturalism. Talk.Origins is a "Usenet newsgroup devoted to the discussion and debate of biological and physical origins." The site has many resources and is geared to argue against Creationism, particularly Young Earth Creationism. However many of their faq's are quite informative and unbiased in nature (though others aren't so unbiased). It also has a great list of links to other creation or evolution sites.

This government-funded site is designed to be a teachers guide for evolution. Developed by the NCSE and UC Berkeley, it has a strong pro-evolution / anti-ID bias, however this site provides a good presentation of much of the information out there used in favor of teaching evolution.

This site contains the entire text of William Paley's 1802 book "Natural Theology; or, Evidences of the Existence and Attributes of the Deity". Historically, this is perhaps the best known work on the Design Argument.
